The School of Computer and Information Science (CIS) has highly qualified academic staff who are actively engaged in research and development. At present, about 30 staff members have a doctorate degree and the number is growing.

In addition to full-time academic staff, CIS has a number of adjunct academic staff who supervise research degree candidates and are involved in collaborative research projects within the Advanced Computing Research Centre (ACRC).

In addition to the staff and PhD students from within CIS, the SIM Lab has the expertise provided by members, collaborators and visitors from other academic institutions and industry partner organisations.
